chrisprickett Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I'm in the market for a new CO detector, and I'm curious as to what others like, dislike, use, etc. Thanks in Advance,
Jim Morrison Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I like the Monoxor II from Bacharach, but it's the only one I've ever used. Easy to use and calibrate. No problems in the 7 years I've had it.
Bruce Thomas Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 They have a new model out since then Jim. Bruce
bradfeldt Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 We always used the Monoxor II's in the past but have switched to the Monoxor III's. They run on AA instead of D batteries, have a "hold" display button, and the batteries seem to last longer. We experimented with the Fyrite Pro but immediately gave up due to broken connections on the moisture filter.
chrisprickett Posted December 2, 2004 Author Report Posted December 2, 2004 Have you tried the Bachrach Snifit 50? http://www.professionalequipment.com/xq ... efault.htm
bradfeldt Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Chris, The Snifit is for personal protection, not for testing gas appliances. It is meant to alert you when you are entering an area with hig CO levels.
chrisprickett Posted December 8, 2004 Author Report Posted December 8, 2004 Best price I found on the Monoxor III http://www.entechsupply.com/monoxor.htm Anyone found better? Do you think they'll be better pricing at Inspectionworld?

Do you think they'll be better pricing at Inspectionworld? The Monoxor III looks precisely like the Fyrite Pro platform; they're probably conjoining the lines into a single product. Everything is always cheaper @ InspectionWorld; if you aren't in a major yank, you should wait. I always manage to work deals @ the show.
