Can any of you guys help me properly identify these two building materials (the green substance in the first picture and the brown fiberous material in the second). Possible health issues? Thanks in advance...

Here is a close up of the green material (i attached the wrong photo in the fist post). Both were around duct work. I was not at this house, the photos were sent to me by a friend.

The second photo looks like rockwool batt. I have no idea what the green stuff could be. I know it wasn't your inspection, but do you know if it was a green material, or a material that turned green?

Looks like some kind of cellulose wallboard. The second photo in the first post shows a thin white layer of something in the lamina. I suppose that might be asbestos but the only way to know is to take a sample, take it to the lab and hope they're using an analysis protocol the EPA says is correct.

ok, i talked to the home owner and said that the greenish stuff is lint... sorry. I wasnt there. He was concerned about what the type of wallboard was, and the fibrous material on the duct by the ceiling.
