Robert Jones Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 The only white pipe that I have really run across is PVC.
Bain Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 The color doesn't much matter. When PEX began making appearances in my area, I looked at a house that was plumbed with nothing but blue pipes. I thought a mistake had been made--that red PEX had a higher temperature rating than blue. But when I called a plumber friend, he told me that all PEX piping had the same PSI and temperature ratings, regardless of color.
ejager Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Is that a chunk of galvanized pipe after the pressure reducing valve? Is that water 'system' hanging from the drain line? How is all 'that' supported?
Tom Raymond Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 I thought the whole point of pex tubing was to minimize the number of fittings[:-banghea Tom
Greg Booth Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Standard Pex, installed by someone who has only ever seen copper. LOL
Neal Lewis Posted May 26, 2010 Author Report Posted May 26, 2010 Darren, my business partner did the inspection. It was a townhouse in Far Hills from the 90's. Next time, I'll send it your way. Too far for us.
Darren Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 If I recall correctly, there's only one townhouse development in Far Hills; I've done a few there but can't remember see that piping... I think that development had to satisfy the low income housing requirements for Far Hills; after all you need 10 acres to build a house there.
Terence McCann Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Standard Pex, installed by someone who has only ever seen copper. LOL Looks like the work of someone that found installing copper a bit beyond their skill set.
