garjan Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 QEST- C-PB2110 plastic pipe this pipe is in our home (1990) - no problems yet - should we replace it? Thanks - J
AHI in AR Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 The biggest issues with polybutylene piping are the early generation plastic fittings and municipal water systems with high free chlorine levels. I have no idea what your chlorine levels are, but your water utility would. Even w/o high chlorine if you have the plastic fittings you are (or will be) in trouble.
Jim Katen Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 QEST- C-PB2110 plastic pipe this pipe is in our home (1990) - no problems yet - should we replace it? Thanks - J You should replace it at least one or two days before it begins to leak. Until then, it'll be fine. - Jim Katen, Oregon
