DonTx Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 We've been finding quite a few attics with insulation that does not meet the depth the label states. One of my inspectors was doing some research when he came across this article. Here's the link. http://hem.dis.anl.gov/eehem/00/001112.html

Last year, I had to have an insulating crew return *five times* to correct their errors on an addition I built. Even then, I'd characterize the work as C- quality. The simple result of laziness and incompetence. - Jim Katen, Oregon
chrisprickett Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I heard Michael speak at an ASHI chapter seminar, a few years back. The guy is very passionate about insulation! I actually called him three months ago, regarding some issues in a new build. He was very helpful and knows his stuff!
Brian G Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Interesting article. I'm sure my cellulose was under-blown in the attic, but knowing the guy who did it I'm equally sure his error was following the manufacturers' flawed coverage charts. Nice little item to check on warranty inspections, no doubt. Brian G.
