Yup. That's what I'm going to start calling these uncle "meant well" built decks.

No nails in the hangers, no bolts, no flashing, no nuthin!

When I shook the outside corner post, the whole thing started to sway in a circular motion, and the buyer ran back in to the house.

Scared the hell out of me too, and I expected it!

If I would have continued, I have no doubt it would have gone to the ground.

Looks like 90+% of the decks built in my area. I just love it when I write it up, and the Realtor says "look at all the other decks on this street, they are all built the same way and of course they do not meet the building standards of today, they weren't built today"....
