RickSab Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I thought this would provide some interesting reading. Download Attachment: BOM_040110EIMA.pdf 505.85 KB
Scottpat Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Sounds like a promotional piece, full of fluff and more fluff!
kurt Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Yeah, it's a sales pitch. They gloss over the details of drainage planes and that sort of thing. I only saw one use of the word "drainage", and it was secondary to their push on the water resistant finish.
Marc Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 It's an ad, not an installation manual. My 2 day training session on EIFS 18 months ago by the AWCI repeatedly emphasized the importance of drainage planes on all EIFS installations. I'm not condoning the system, just saying that there's some applications where it doesn't belong, it requires an enormous amount of discipline to install it properly and the amount of maintenance it needs likely exceeds any other exterior finish in current use.
