Electricity tends to be my weak suite. After watching 60 minutes last week on the 'Bloom Box', how do you convert watts to amps? The rated output is 100KW at 480V @ 60 Hz, 4-wire 3 phase. How many amps would this be on a 240 volt system?

Thanks

100 Kilowatts of power on a 240 Volt, 3 phase configuration at unity power factor comes out to:

100,000/(240 X 1.732) = 241 amps on each phase conductor.

Here is something you can use. OHMS LAW.

Here is the key.

E = Voltage (sometimes "U" or "V" are used instead of "E", and measured in "volts")

I = Current (measured in "amperes")

R = Resistance (measured in "ohms")

P = Power (measured in "watts")
