Must admit I've never seen that but...

Every house that has aluminum siding I call out that it should be grounded, opposite corners to ensure safety.

I know aluminum siding needs to be grounded but is it because of a possible lighting strike, stray current, both?

That seems to be a logical reason, I suppose...Thanks Terry! I have another picture I recently took, and I'll get some thoughts on it later. Have a good day, all!!

Terry,

I tell my clients both reasons. Of course the always possible lighting but also if a light or outlet is installed on exterior and the hot wire somehow touches the aluminum, watch it.

Another question, how many inspectors review the service drop; it it wrapped behind a downspout? laying against a gutter? I see it alot.
