Gordon
Has anyone ever seen something like this? I was on a job today, and noticed this gutter had a ground on it. I've never seen or heard about this before...anyone have any reason why? Darren
Must admit I've never seen that but... Every house that has aluminum siding I call out that it should be grounded, opposite corners to ensure safety. crusty
Is there a swimming pool? Maybe an unsatisfactory inept attempt to satisfy the bonding requirements?

Darren About the House Somewhere in the non compete area of NJ I know aluminum siding needs to be grounded but is it because of a possible lighting strike, stray current, both? Gordon
That seems to be a logical reason, I suppose...Thanks Terry! I have another picture I recently took, and I'll get some thoughts on it later. Have a good day, all!!
Darren
Terry, I tell my clients both reasons. Of course the always possible lighting but also if a light or outlet is installed on exterior and the hot wire somehow touches the aluminum, watch it. Another question, how many inspectors review the service drop; it it wrapped behind a downspout? laying against a gutter? I see it alot.
