twendorff Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I am trying to learn more about where safety glazing is required on windows (in particular a 3-season room).

Tom Raymond Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Get a copy of Code Check. There is an excellent diagram of the safety glass requirements. Generally, in manufactured 3 season patio rooms all the glass is tempered but there are exceptions. If there is a hot tub in the patio room then all the glass must be tempered. If it's stick built then your locally adopted building code applies. Some basics are: any door, anything adjacent to or less that 24" from a door (except transoms), anything closer than 18" to the floor, overhead glazings, and shower enclosures to name a few. Tom
hausdok Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Hi, The article linked by Bill is better than Code Check. It's got all of the code check diagrams plus it explains in detail each of the rules shown in Code Check. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
