RickSab Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I had an inspection today that had an Tappan furnace with a serial # G6R9901-06056. The chart I had downloaded here shows:Tappan: Age is the last 3 characters (digits and letter) of the serial number for the year and month of manufacturer. Example: xxxxx85C = March 1985. (I not used) This serial number ends in only numbers. Does anyone have a different code for Tappan? Thanks
Richard Moore Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I believe that would be October, 1999. I'm guessing a bit on the month, assuming 0 would be 10(?). See this https://www.inspectorsjournal.com/Forum ... C_ID=10028
RickSab Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 Thanks Richard, That was my guess but my chart had a different code so I thought I ask the brain trust.
