Hi,

I think that the fact that nobody has a ready reference for it is a good clue that it's well beyond the end of its normally-expected 20-year service life. When I find gas furnaces that old around here, it automatically triggers my old-as-Methusaleh comment wherein I warn them not to be surprised if it fails as I'm backing out of the driveway.

ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!!

You are correct....thats how I called it....

however

The reason I was seeing if anyone could get a closer date was that there was fire damage in the area, and furnace was put in after fire damage (wiring nailed to charred joists) previous owner may have lied on his disclosure saying he didn't know fire damage was there..... as area was hidden behind sheetrock ceiling....blah, blah, longer story and beyond scope of inspection...however it was an inspection I did in July 08 and got a call back.... I couldn't find a date then either, just thot with the 50K years [:-graduat of experience out there, maybe a chance??

thanks

Jerry
