hausdok Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Hi All, Thought some of you might find this mildly interesting. Seems those in merry old England are having just as many problems with new construction as here in the colonies. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike Click here
kurt Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 I "clicked here" & didn't get anything(?); just a message saying I was timed out or something.
hausdok Posted September 2, 2004 Author Report Posted September 2, 2004 Nuts! I hate it when that happens. Sorry. I think I've got it fixed now. I tested it from a couple of different identities and it seems to go through. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Paul MacLean Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 It worked for me...the article, not the defects...
crusty Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Good grief. I dare say if that stuff is what they are finding, either they don't know their snag from a hole in the ground or their workmanship is great compared to ours. Pretty insignificant stuff for the most part, easily found by even a blind snagger. If that's indicitive of their construction problems they are light years ahead of us.

Don't you just hate it when they forget to caulk the architraves? By the way, what the hell does, "Pipes not lagged in roof void areas" mean? - Jim Katen, Oregon
kurt Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Pipes not fastened or supported in the attic/crawlspace/roof void. I think I like that term. I'm gonna start saying "roof void" as much as I can.
crusty Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I want to use architraves in conversation. How does one pronounce that?
kurt Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 PRONUNCIATION: ärk-i-trav The little marks wouldn't copy. Short a, short i, long a. ark like "boat", i like "it", trav like "rave". At the cocktail party @ last nights soiree, I managed to use "roof void" 3 times; everyone backed away slowly.....
crusty Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I think you could chalk it up as a positive experience Kurt. They didn't panic and run.
