jak531 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 10" of blown fiberglass installed over board sheathing? I've never run into this before is this acceptable? Thanks
Brian G Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 jak, Could you give us more details? Are we talking about a board ceiling or a board floor in an attic? Got any pictures? Brian G.
jak531 Posted September 6, 2004 Author Report Posted September 6, 2004 Sorry, no pictures. Board floor over ceiling joists.
RobC Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 I don't believe I've ever seen board sheathing. Regardless, Jak 531 If you can be more specific about the installation, I'm sure you'll get the answer your'e looking for. As it stands, your question could be answered a hundred different ways.
crusty Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 Insulation is insulation no matter which side of the attic floor it is on.
Brian G Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 If I understand correctly, the attic was more or less floored with boards and the 10" of insulation was blown in on top. If so, I can't think of how that would be a problem. Brian G.
jak531 Posted September 8, 2004 Author Report Posted September 8, 2004 I apoligize for not being more clear. Brian, that is exactly what I was trying to say. Thanks
