The relationship between home inspectors who are for and against a mandatory pest licenses for all home inspectors in Washington State has often been contentious.

Since July 1st, when Washington State's new home inspector licensing law took affect, home inspectors have been legally allowed for the first time since 1991, to identify and report pest conducive conditions and fungal rot to their clients without being licensed as pest inspectors.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) has just posted its second quarter violation report for 2009. The report summarizes the types of violations investigated by WSDA and the fines they have levied against violators.
