Brian G Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Okay, just what in the heck does it mean when a gas water heater is set on "vacation"? Is it on, or not? Or will it only drink beer and yell at the little water heaters for disturbing it? [:-gnasher] Brian G.
bradfeldt Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Turning water heaters all of the way off can allow bacteria to grow inside of them. For this reason manufacturers have provided a vacation setting. It really no different than "low."
Brian G Posted August 24, 2004 Author Report Posted August 24, 2004 Good Lord, that actually makes sense! Who screwed that up? Thanks Matt, one less facet of my ignorance to betray me later. Brian G.
Terence McCann Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I wonder if those manufactured overseas say "Holiday?" []
