kurt Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 OK; who's got the moisture testing protocol that would be "court worthy". I own a Protimeter Surveymaster, did a bunch of deep probes on this afternoons inspection (no Chad, not that kind of deep probe), & found a million dollar house full of water. This baby is going to court. Please, who has the definitive testing method that makes me look smart?
Gerry Beaumont Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 Hi Kurt, I don't know whether this would stand up in court, but if I see an area of damp, I first test several areas of the same wall or ceiling that appear to be un affected to establish a base line, then I take a reading in what appears to be the visible middle of the area and every 12 inches working outwards until the meter readings return to the baseline. Sometimes I document where the B/L readings were taken and all the reading on the damage. Regards Gerry
Terence McCann Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 Kurt: Was this EIFS? If so try this....... http://www.toolbase.org/Docs/MainNav/Mo ... mentID=876
kurt Posted August 12, 2004 Author Report Posted August 12, 2004 Nope; not EIFS. Solid masonry lacking flashing under the coping stones. It's a foookin' nightmare of water. All 'cause a little flashing was missing @ the top of the wall(s).
