Phillip Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I would like to know how folks get away with things like this? The house in a area that has a AHJ. The winder are not wide enough and could cause some one to fall. Click to Enlarge 29.14 KB Click to Enlarge 56.05 KB Click to Enlarge 69.23 KB
Tom Raymond Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 How old is that? I see winders like that in 100+ year old houses alot. If that's new, it looks like the handrail pinches it to under the 30" width requirement, making the straight sections wrong too. Tom The black paint job makes them look really roomy though[:-banghea

Phillip Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 Built in 2005 under the 97 Southern Building Code. The AHJ does not enforce much.
