randynavarro Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Is it worth the price? There are so many specs and install details from manufacturers that are already free online. Is the NRCA Manual any more helpful?
kurt Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 It has a lot, if not most, of the same graphics at all the mfg's. It's the non-denominational rule book, so it's helpful.
Brandon Whitmore Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Randy, It's free for viewing on- line, although a pain to really read through. I check it out at times when I am looking for something specific.

randynavarro Posted April 28, 2009 Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 Wow. I must be thick and blind. Brandon referred to a free copy of the manuals. I don't see them anywhere.
hausdok Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 More specifically, go here. If you're not already registered as a user on that site, you'll need to register first. It's free and only takes a couple of minutes to accomplish. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
randynavarro Posted April 28, 2009 Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 Man. . . . Thank you. I looked for twenty minutes on that site - twice! Hopefully I can find things in a house better. . . .
Brandon Whitmore Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Randy, Sorry for not pointing you in the right direction. Did you learn anything along the way?[:-magnify
randynavarro Posted April 29, 2009 Author Report Posted April 29, 2009 Thanks, Brandon. No need for apologies. That was just one of those sites I couldn't navigate properly. Checking the manuals, I discovered pretty much what Kurt mentioned. The specs and drawings are almost identical to what mfr's produce. Good thing is the NRCA is an independent third party so their un-biased to any particular product.
Brandon Whitmore Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Well, son of a @*!!. The NRCA manual is no longer allowed to be viewed by non NRCA members: http://www.nrca.net/rp/technical/manual/manual.aspx Does anyone have a diagram or good set of instructions showing how to properly weave a valley by chance?

Brandon Whitmore Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Thanks Jim, On the 12" lap up past the center of the valley-- where are you supposed to measure from? I've always measured from about the top of the exposed part, but the measurement varies quite a bit depending on where you actually do measure. Not that the location of the measurement mattered yesterday- they only lapped them up 3" or so in areas. (new roof).
