Jim Morrison Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Looks to me like an early 1950's 'Kitchen of the Future'
Brad Manor Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I came across one similar not too long ago. Owner said it was mid-50s. This one also worked like new. Click to Enlarge 42.9 KB
Inspectorjoe Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 It's a Frigidaire Flair. I'm guessing '64 0r '65. More than you'll ever want to know about this range
Chris Bernhardt Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 There are several like that in a retirement community that I inspect a lot at that was built in the early 60's. Chris, Oregon
Jerry Simon Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I just tought this was cool. I tought it was a puttie- ... aw, never mind.
Rob Amaral Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Looks to me like an early 1950's 'Kitchen of the Future' I'm shooting for 1959. ? Squared edges were kickin in in the late fifties, early 60's.. Has that 1958 Edsel look to it..
Rob Amaral Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 PS-I don't have a lot of faith in the cable that feeds those burners though.. It may work, but that sucker flips in/out, right? The cable must move.
Jim Katen Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I just tought this was cool. It looks and works like new. Can anyone date it? If it's a Frigidaire Flair, it's from the '60s. Samantha had one in Bewitched. Tappan also made one in the '50s. They were cool looking but a pain in the butt to cook on. - Jim Katen, Oregon

Bill Kibbel Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Amateurs. It's a Frigidaire Flair Custom Imperial with optional exhaust hood.
gtblum Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 It's a Frigidaire Flair. I'm guessing '64 0r '65. More than you'll ever want to know about this range Hey Joe, Thanks so much for that. I sent that file to the client and it just blew him away!
SonOfSwamp Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 PS-I don't have a lot of faith in the cable that feeds those burners though.. It may work, but that sucker flips in/out, right? The cable must move. I feel your worries. Best I recall, the cooktop slides out. Fifty years of cooktop sliding with cables curling and uncurling in a metal case is one of my recurring nightmares. If I had one in my house, I'd get somebody to check or replace the cables, first thing. WJ
hausdok Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I just can envision anything more hazardous than a cooktop that protrudes into the center of a room that a toddler could walk beneath. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
