Home Maintenance Checkups - Viable?

An interesting article in Hanley Wood's Remodeler newsletter; remodeling companies that periodically do maintenance checkups on homes. Seems to me, that'd be a natural revenue stream for home inspectors.

Funny you should mention that. I am starting to put together a "certification" program just for that field of expertise.

As it were, it is a good revenue source. I had a few people that contacted me on an annual basis to do a "walk-about" and report on what needed to be done/repaired/updated. We were busy enough with regular work that I never tried to expand that part of the business. But in this market it could be a winner with more folks staying put.
