In Japan, there are over 50,000 of these units running and there are over 80,000 currently worldwide. Is this a whole new category of expertise that inspectors need to begin looking into?
homnspector Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 How long do you figure that internal combustion engine will last running 24 hours a day? Wonder if you have to dismantle it once a month and change the oil.
hausdok Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 Hi, Well, I admit I don't know a whole lot about that system, but I doubt that it runs continuously 24/7/365. I suspect that it is "on" 24/7 which only means that his thermostat is set at 70° and he leaves it there and the system starts itself up, comes on and goes off as necessary. OT - OF!!! M.
Rob Amaral Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Some guys around here (Medfield, MA) are bolted-into that system with Honda. It is a slow start up, but will take off. http://www.freewatt.com/ I've had a few long talks with one of the principals. Very interesting.
Steven Hockstein Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 An idea about the cost to install?
