He's a former member of the American Society of Home Inspectors and the California Real Estate Inspection Association and is a retired home inspector and contractor. He serves on the faculty of the Building Technology program at the College of San Mateo in northern California, is certified by IAEI and ICBO as an electrical inspector and serves on the education committee of the Southwest Section of IAEI.
