Jerry Simon Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 New construction city condo. Vent-free fireplace burns denatured ethanol (denatured to avoid fuel surcharge - really). I'm gonna search the internet for info on such, but anybody know anything good or bad about such? Thanks for any insight. (Geez...why not just burn a couple frickin' candles...)

AHI in AR Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 For no real reason, I clicked on the link and looked at the building. I see that the description says "chocolate stained" hardwood floors. Geez...you'd think that for half a mil they'd have the cleaning lady come in and at least mop the floors for ya.[]
Scottpat Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Alcohol burners have been used for years and years on boats. When we had a sailboat in BC (before children) ours had an alcohol stove and heater. Worked very well.
kurt Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Chocolate floors and Espresso cabinets. Tasty.......... I've gotten calls to look at 7 of these split face block wonders. They all leak. Folks all want to know how to make them stop leaking. The mold comment is exactly right. They're an unbelievable mess, and no way to fix them without starting over.
