Norm Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I don't know if the lack of response to the previously posted installments is due to the content or lack of, photo quality, choice of subjects, or just a temporary down trend in forum participation. If any of you have a particular topic regarding swimming pools you want me to touch on please let me know. I'm sure I have photos which will complement most topics. Have a great Memorial Day weekend. And above all "keep the pool filled with water". NORM SAGE Download Attachment: Oh Sh-t.jpg 217.43 KB
Scottpat Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Norm, You are doing a great job. I have been learning from your post and pictures. Scott
Scottpat Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I know the answer to that pic. They took all of the water out of the pool and the groundwater popped it up! Do I win!!!!
Norm Posted May 29, 2004 Author Report Posted May 29, 2004 Scott, You win. This is the cracked gunnite shell they were going to fix. That would have been a $500.00 to $650.00 job. It ended up costing +/- $10,000.00 to demolish the pool and deck, haul away the debris, and fill the hole. NORM SAGE Download Attachment: ooops.jpg 238.17 KB
Paul MacLean Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Norm, Keep the pool info coming. I only do a few pools a year and don't have specific questions, but I sure enjoy following the topic. I may not respond, but know I'm looking. Thanks for your efforts!
Chad Fabry Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Me too. I like reading it, but I don't know enough to make any comments yet.
Danny Pritchard Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I like this topic and hope you keep it going. You may try putting in some hot tub and spa information since some of the requirements are similiar to pools. Also I would imagine they are more widespread than pools around the country and there would be more response to the topic.
n/a29 Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 I won't do pools and I disclose them in my contract, because I don't have a clue on how to inspect them properly and I feel that trying would be a disservice to my clients. I would love to learn about them so I can provide pool inspections with my services. However, I suspect it would take quite a while for me to get to that point of knowledge. I will keep reading your posts, Norm.
