Deteriorated tiles

A first for me; decorative band of tile in shower, when I touched it, it almost turned to powder. The bath was redone maybe 4 years ago.

I have marble all over one bathroom. That looks like travertine which is also very soft. Most (almost all ) cleaners are aggressive to marble and travertine. They're both a stupid choice for showers.
