Second floor dryer vent

I found this little gem today. It is for a dryer in a second floor laundry room. This was on a $700k home. The home was staged professionally, so it looked like it was being lived in. This was the builder "show" home. I just wonder how many times somebody working for the builder looked up at the vent and just kept going!

Looks like a situation where the guy who put the dryer vent in didn't look outside before he drilled the hole.

Looks like a combination self cleaning drier vent/self de-icing gutter to me. Brilliant!
