Chad Fabry Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 I bet the installers were laughing the whole time they were working. Image Insert: 42.14 KB
Les Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Chad, I am disappointed you did not recognize that installation as a standard air cooled garage door opening device. I believe it provides ventilation if a small creature gets caught under the door, as it closes.
Jim Baird Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 Chad, That looks to me like a masterwork of synchronous design, obviously done by some misunderstood garage genius who's way ahead of his time.
ghentjr Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 I don't see the problem. You only have to cut down the blade near the bracket and it should work.
Les Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 John, Would you have to cut all five blades off or would just one be OK?

gtblum Posted July 22, 2008 Report Posted July 22, 2008 They could have saved a lot of money if they just added a pully and a clutch to the fan.
John Dirks Jr Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 That garage must have a door on the other side too. It looks like the opener in the picture doesn't connect to the door in the picture. The shadows from the light are not making the right pattern on the ceiling. Is this a hoax?
Erby Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Probably a drive through garage for a boat - camper, etc. Don't look like there's an opener on the right side door.
Chad Fabry Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 It is a drive through. It's not a hoax. The fan was installed years ago, and the buyers asked to have a a door opener installed and they got it.
