quarter round

I am starting to see a few new wood floors that does not have quarter round installed.

It it required?

Required? No, but in some cases it may be needed.

Just an FYI. Shoe moulding is what your looking for. quarter round is a different animal. Difference being, shoe is taller on one side and quarter round is, well, quarter round. I'm wondering how much room the installer left for expansion.
