When I used to do multi-family housing inspections for HUD, I saw that all the time. It's a low-income thing. I have no idea why. Ironing boards are dirt cheap down at Goodwill.

Side note: As often as not, they're ironing their hair when that happens. (!?!?)

I was going to ask them but didn't have the nerve and besides it took me a half hour to find the owner of the property; it was yes to every question I asked.

I owned a home in that area in 75 when things were new, young couples trying to make a living etc....things changed when they moved in
