Is anyone aware of any software geared to municipal inspections? I'm a member of the local building official association and some of the muni guys would like to go digital. I'm putting a short presentation on industry software and hardware options.

Has any one heard of an AHJ that has gone digital?

I just left a town after meeting with the CBO about subcontracting out inspections and this is what they are using.

I have no idea how good it is or really how well it works in the field. I have seen some of their inspectors using a handheld Fujitsu computer at homes.

I've been telling Mike B. for years that DevWave should develop a CodeExpress version of Inspect Express. Danged hippy won't listen!

I heard ya... our pocket pc version probably already would work, just have to change the template. We have one city just using the electrical section of our PC report software. If anyone has a report they can upload so we can have a better look that would be nice.

I also figured it's probably different in every little district.

Guy's it wou;d be a marketable product. To the muni's and us. Code sites built into the software!
