inspect4u Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 On the last two inspections, I have found the T&P valve drain line coming straight out of the home. I know they can't have a threaded end, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that have to be elbowed down at the termination, but I can't find any reference for that now. Has anyone else heard of this? Mike M
exploreparadise2 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 IRC Section P2803.6.1(9) The discharge piping serving a pressure-relief valve, temperature-relief valve or combination valve shall be installed to flow by gravity. And (6) Discharge in a manner that does not cause personal injury or structural damage. And (7) Discharge to a termination point that is readily observable by the building occupants.
