kurt Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I seem to recall these flues cannot deviate more than 30° from vertical. I can't find my reference for this, and maybe I'm imagining it. I saw one today that's pitched about 50° off vertical. That's bad, right?
Bill Kibbel Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Manufacturers' installation instructions. - Only one offset is permitted - A max. of (2) 15° or (2) 30° elbows can be used - mixing combinations of elbows to get other angles is not permitted Or did you mean the terminating section was 50° off vertical?
kurt Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 There was a 50° angle in the pipe. See photo Image Insert: 61.58 KB
Bill Kibbel Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Image Edit: It looks like 45° and it has too many L-blows. That's wrong on all 3 counts that I listed. Did you get the manufacturer from the sticker? I might have the install instructions.
kurt Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 That's what I thought. I couldn't get to the thing; access was blocked by ducts & framing. I made the photo by setting the zoom, reaching through a hole, and shooting until I came up w/something. If I coulda got the mfg., I'd look it up. This place is wonderful. It's like instantaneous service......
