Welcome!

Start by going to the Home page of this site where you will find a search box. Type in (with quotes) "new inspector" to see what has appeared here before. Then ask any questions not answered there.

Go down to inspector rants then inspector training. These folks are battle weary pioneers. Take their advice or at least read it serveral times. This is a tough market right now.[:-banghea

Don't believe anything the HI training schools tell you about how much easy money there is out there. Do your own research. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but this is not a get rich quick profession. You will likely loose money during the first 2-3 years of business unless you are a very savvy marketer.

Jim is right about not listening to what the schools say about easy money. They are a business like everyone else and this is one way they keep the classes full. As a newer inspector, I can verify that you will be working 2-3 years building your business, obtaining reputation, etc. Just market your @#$ off, stay above board and become a discount home inspector and the business will come.
