Help with furnace age...

Gotta gets me a new furnace/ac age book...mine goes from 1967 to 1993.

Anyone know the age of a York AC Model HI (L?)RC024SO6A, Serial #EFGM176688? Thanks much for any help.

Hi Jerry,

The third letter in the serial number is the one you want. In this case, G is either a 1978 or 1997 model.

Download this from the TIJ documents library.

According to the Furnace age chart, in the Library, Popular Files:

The letter "G" is the third letter in the serial number, it was manufactured in 1977 or 1998.

I assume the chart covers York A/C's as well.

Jerry, Frank is right, I transposed my last digits on the two numbers when I typed them in, I should have said '77 or '98.
