hausdok Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Denray, Care to provide the name of a caulking that will stick to poly sheeting? I've never found one. Garet AirLock latex mastic. load a caulking tube with it and it works great. I'd never use clear plastic though. Too many things that will grow under clear plastic. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike

hausdok Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Jawohl! Ultra sticky and tenacious. Dries relatively hard but still flexible. Washes up with soap and water; unless you allow it to fully dry and then you've got a fight on your hands. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Tim123 Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Hi to the new guy (me) I have to wonder how the termite guy calculated the proper moisture content needed for the hardwood Also how does he explain that hardwood (real wood) is not to be layed over any sub flooring with a moisture content of more than 14%. The house should be relatively dry when the hardwood is installed. And what about the paper that the hardwood installer lays on top of the sub flooring which serves as a moisture barrier. Here the plastic does not have to be black, but it should be 6 mil, and it should be applied to the inside of the wall to exterior grade level. You have to remember that the termite guy is always under the influence of toxic substances Have a great day
