RobC Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 There have been times when I have come across comments like this, “Moisture barriers should be installed on the inside of the sheathing in colder climates. It makes sense when you consider where the condensation is likely to form.â€
Konrad Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Here in the Midwest, we have the luxury of 120 degree temp swing in a given year. So we get ALL types of weather. And we ALL put vapor barrier on the "warm" side of the wall. (The inside, for reasons you state above.) Are people confusing poly vapor barrier with housewrap?
RobC Posted April 28, 2004 Author Report Posted April 28, 2004 House wrap and building paper is an air barrier with totally different porpoises not to be confused with VAPOUR BARRIER.
