Chad Fabry Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 This siding has no exposed nails a V shaped bottom and a ^shaped top. Blind nail the top and slide the V shape down over the ^ shape to lock the next course. It's like tongue and groove. Sort of. The reveal left from the over lap is only about 3/16 of an inch. I usually associate the screen pattern on the back with the Masonite brand. - Jim Katen, Oregon
inspect4u Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Hi, long time listener, first time caller-so to speak. Jim's right. It's masonite (or hardboard) lap siding and very common in Texas. However, you won't usually find the clip at the butt joints, they're just butted together. It should be installed at least six inches above grade, but alot of the time it is ground level. Then it is crap, it moisture rots quickly and termites love it. It comes with a smooth face or textured face as pictured. Mike M
