The picture shows a seal tucked in. It's the outer portion seal that you can touch. Does this compromise the seal between the two panes or is it just a mounting seal for the frame?

Based on what I THINK you are asking about, it's just a weatherproofing seal, (like a marine seal or boot seal) around the glass panel. It won't affect the actual glass seal at all.

No problems, in other words.
