I see that kind of thing a lot more now that PEX is so ubiquitous around here. If you grab hold of the valve body, and twist, you can make them face any way you want.

Hi Jim,

It is pex and it is installed like copper, pieced together.

Are you seeing it installed with the home runs to a manifold or like what I have.

I'm seeing it done the same way as you're seeing it done. They almost never use the manifold method. PEX is just about the only distribution piping that they use in new construction around here.

No distribution panel means less cost to plumber/builder and ergo ... more $$ in their pocket.

If only they would make dang sure they install all the fittings, connections properly and NOT use the products from the big box stores.

OR the bad Zurn fittings!

Our local guys just slot the 2xs by the manifolds. No support for the piping or should I say the manifold.

Builders get hot about ripping out cabinets to replace the 2xs[:-angel]
