hausdok Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 In this photo, someone has taken a screw-in plug adapter and installed wires in the slots to bypass the fuse in a disconnect that controls a light and a sump pump in the basement of a 1924 home. Many thanks to Phillip R. Smith Sr.Home Sweet Home InspectionsTuscaloosa, AL
charlie Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Looks like the circuit is most likely fused at the main panel---could have saved some time and just wire nuted the wires together instead of using the old fuse block[:-graduat
Phillip Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 The sump pump was hard wired. It was a disconect to shut the power of where the pump could be worked on. Here are some of the panels Image Insert: 78.84 KB Image Insert: 79.47 KB Image Insert: 103.66 KB Image Insert: 77.1 KB

Phillip Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 He was punishing some one that day. Two inch of rain, I guess that what I get for having a booth at the realestate salesmanship conference for 3 days.
antelespec Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I thought you were supposed to put a penny in the screw in, not bypass it for safety's sake. :-0
