randynavarro
Something doesn't seem quite right but I can't cite something specific. Its a natural gas, zero-clearance fireplace that's venting into the original 12" metal flue / chimney from the pre-fab wood burning fireplace that was there. Is this OK? hausdok
Is the flue intact, are the flue sections connected and locked together all the way up, and does it meet the requirements for the flue pipe that are required by the manufacturer? Bet you can't answer the first couple - only a sweep doing a level II is going to be able to answer those, unless that flue is really, really short and really, really clean. OT - OF!!! M. randynavarro
I'm thinking something more about the larger diameter; not supposed to increase the flue size more than 2x or something along those lines. . .
AHI in AR
Sounds doubtful at best to me. Factory built units are designed and listed to work as a package only with the vent system supplied by the mfr. I'd check w/ the manufacturer.
