I used to wonder how they could cut small trees profitably.

The video is about five minutes long and the operator cut down a lot of trees, stripped the limbs and sectioned them into 12 foot logs.

I wonder why he doesn't have a log truck sitting there. At the speed he's moving, it'd be worthwhile to drop the logs right into the truck.

The makeshift roads are typically too narrow, too steep, or too muddy for a tandem truck to negotiate without getting stuck. A bulldozer or skidder is used to haul the logs to the loading area.
