John Dirks Jr
This bill was recently introduced in Maryland regarding new regulations for the home inspection industry. http://mlis.state.md.us/2008RS/bills/sb/sb0196f.pdf Imagine it was your state and tell me what you like or don't like about it. Eric B
Scary stuff. Almost no education/experience requirements. Did I miss the part that says what the inspector is suppose to do? And this law is for whose benefit?
John Dirks Jr
Actually, the legislation is just getting under way here in Maryland. They do have a SOP out also. I'll post it as soon as I track it down.

Scottpat
With a education requirement like that folks will have a difficult time passing the NHIE. Out of the 19 states that now use the NHIE those that have the pre-licensing education hours also have the highest pass ratio for the NHIE. What are the requirement in MD right now? I thought the license law started at the first of the year?
John Dirks Jr
Here are the current requirements: http://mlis.state.md.us/asp/statutes_Re ... nsion=HTML I didn't have to take the NHIE but I did by choice and I passed it. I'm sure the training helped. Lots of other reading helped too.
