Brian G Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 It's a minimum of 10 feet from any opening less than 2 feet below discharge. Also a minimum of 10 feet: from any adjacent building from public or private access above grade Brian G. The Only Nationally Certified Radon Guy In Mississippi (NEHA)[^]
Jeff Remas Posted March 26, 2004 Author Report Posted March 26, 2004 Thanks for the replies guys. I did exactly what George posted because I am not a specialist in mitigation, only testing. appreciate the input. Looks like this one just may not be correct but we will see.
Bill Kibbel Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Jeff, there are 2 issues. 1. Point of discharge should be above the eave of the roof. 2. Point of discharge should be ten feet or more from any window, door, or other opening that is less than two feet below the exhaust point. The distance from the point of discharge to openings may be measured either directly between the two points or be the sum of measurements made around intervening obstacles. I suggest obtaining a copy of the EPA's publication: Radon Mitigation Standards.
