chicago Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Thats ok the brick ties will hold it up.Think they remembered the moisture barrier?
Phillip Posted October 3, 2007 Author Report Posted October 3, 2007 The bricks ties is the only thing that keeping the wall up. For what I understand you can only have a third of the brick on a overhang. That is half a brick. They install some trying to make it look like a moisture barrier but water was getting in.
Chad Fabry Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Where I live, freeze- thaw cycles would move that wall up and down so much it'd make the vinyl soffit get work hardened and crack.
chicago Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Sorry I forgot to put (lol).I was being sarcastic. From what I have read this happens when they forget to factor in the air space between the brick and underlayment. As far as how much needs support I think it is 3/4 rather than 2/3 of the brick.
