John & Joe,

you both seem like intelligent people, how can you defend the following?

Several months ago, your leader made this statement:

“Remember, consumers are most benefited by technically strong inspectors who market well (NACHI members). And consumers are most harmed by technically weak inspectors with state licenses.â€

Now, an 18 year old computer geek, comes out of high school, attends 180 hours of classroom instructions along with 40 ‘unpaid field based inspections’ passes a test and is now a ‘licensed home inspector’.

Come to NY. It's 100 hours of class time and 40 hours, not inspections, of supervised inspections.

Amazing how this thread went from there, to here, which is once again, talking about how bad NACHI has been for the profession, trade, occupation, industry, whatever. This is a classic example of why a single standard will never happen.
