First impression, it looks like one of the Omni-Wood patterns, but I'd need a sample to know for certain.

Weyerhaeuser and masonite both made that pattern. But I don't recall seeing any with that groove near the drip edge from either mfg.

Perhaps a Temple Inland product. Clue is the dark, almost black furnish?

He might be onto something with the Temple Inland product.

Thanks guys. I tell you if someone would come up with a comprehensive siding identification book, I’d pay good $ for it. I just ordered the one from

It's not comprehensive, but it is useful.

There's also a phone number in the book. The gal at the other end of that number is very helpful.
