hausdok Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 This article from the Lawrence Journal World is about an inspectors who has finally reached his 10,000 inspection after more than 20 years in the business. To read more, click here.
ghentjr Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Now I would not be the one to accuse anyone about their counting skills, but 450 plus per year for 22 years straight - I have a hard time with that. I worked my ass off for 26 years and may be close to the 10k, I never kept track. But there were many years I and my employees did 550.
Neal Lewis Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 John, I did well over 600 inspections per year working for the another company, before it got swallowed up by the evil empire. I never kept track either, but I believe I'm over that milestone ( and I still like this profession). It's entirely possible. BTW- The article gives exmples of how detailed his report is. It's all just boilerplate.
Les Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 John G, I agree with your arithmetic. Of course you could do the slick marketing thing - id="size6">we have done thousands!
homnspector Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I knew a guy around here who claimed 7000, seems he had been in the pest business for years and was counting WDO inspections. He is not in business anymore.
Brandon Whitmore Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Sorry about the semi- thread drift-- Did you all see the link at the bottom of that page. Do it yourself home inspections-- use the same CHECKLIST'S the pro's use. They can't be serious---I read the sample section of the report and got confused trying to figure out what they were talking about-- good luck non professionals. I am sure some Realtors would love for their home buyers to inspect their own homes.
Darren Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Do it yourself home inspections-- use the same CHECKLIST'S the pro's use. So, that's where my competition gets their reports from. I had a phone call last week from a realtor who usually refers me to his clients. My price was too high for this particular client. The realtor told me the inspector charged 300 for a home inspection, WDI & radon. He was on site for 30 minutes. Makes you wonder every day. Darren

hausdok Posted September 18, 2007 Author Report Posted September 18, 2007 Brandon and Darren, Come on, Guys, that's a rotating google ad. The chances of a decent number of folks seeing it was pretty small until you guys gave them free advertising by posting that link on TIJ. I've removed the link. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
