I am ready to start creating advertising documents and flyers and stuff like that. Some will be used to hand out and others to be posted at my web page.

My wife is good at creating stuff in MS Word. We have a convertor to make them PDF and whatnot.

Are there any free or inexpensive software add ons we can use to supplement the ability to create interesting and attractive things in MS Word? Post some links or give direction and advice if you can.
